Last updated: 30 July 2026. This policy is written to align with Zimbabwe's Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07] (2021). This is a starting template, not legal advice β have it reviewed by a Zimbabwean lawyer before relying on it in production.
ZimWork ("we", "us") operates the ZimWork marketplace connecting clients with freelance talent in Zimbabwe. For any question about this policy or your data, contact us at support@zimwork.co.zw.
We process personal information to create and manage accounts, verify identity for trust and safety, match clients with freelancers, process payouts, and communicate with you about your account. Verification documents are used only for identity confirmation and are not shared publicly.
Under the Cyber and Data Protection Act, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and may object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@zimwork.co.zw.
Data is stored with our infrastructure provider using access controls that restrict who can view sensitive information such as ID documents. Only authorized ZimWork staff can review verification submissions; the "ID Verified" badge is applied manually after that review.
We do not sell personal information. We share the minimum necessary data with service providers who help us run the platform (such as our hosting and database provider), and with authorities where required by Zimbabwean law.
We retain account and verification data for as long as your account is active, and for a limited period afterward as needed for legal, tax, or dispute-resolution purposes.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
